Ferrero Rocher Individually packaged whole roasted hazelnuts encased in a thin wafer shell filled with nutella/hazelnut cream and covered in milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. Jingle: 'Ferrero Rocher: A sign of good taste'. (In)famous for the much satirised, badly dubbed (Italian) advert where trays of a Ferrero Rocher are handed out at the Ambassador's reception. They either had a very clever advertising agency attempting the build iconic status for the brand with a bucket-load of post-modern irony, or absolutely no idea at all. (Ferrero SpA).

Freddo Frog was invented in 1930 by Harry Melbourne, an 18 year old moulder, employed by MacRobertson's Chocolates (the company was purchased by Cadbury's in 1967). PEZ Small, hard candy sweets, sold in a dispenser. The name PEZ was derived from the German word for peppermint, PfEfferminZ, the first PEZ flavour. There are many different designs of dispenser and they have become a collectable. PEZ are an Austrian invention.

Notes

Bluebird branded sweets were manufactured in the 1930s by Harry Vincent Ltd. The company is now part of Ashbury Confectionery Ltd. In the 1960s, Winfield became the marketing brand for sweets produced for Woolworths. Nestlé's bars of chocolate were most commonly found in vending machines on railway stations. Nestlé now own Rowntree Mackintosh. Custom decrees that Nestlé should always be pronounced 'Ness-uls'. Terry's were Joseph Terry & Sons, Ltd., of York.

Containing a huge amount of information, copies were usually discarded when the next issue arrived, and it is consequently very scarce. Institutional holdings are patchy and often incomplete.

Vol. 15. Published August 1982. 276pp. Owned by Woolworth, Shoppers World was a chain of catalogue stores and of counters inside branches of Woolworth. The brand was launched in September 1974 with 15 shops in the Midlands. From July 1973 high-street redemption centres where Green Shield stamps were redeemed for products began to be rebranded as Argos Stores. By April 1983 Argos had won, and the 45 Shoppers World stores were closed down.
